NH-Hell

I should get this out of the way: I want Montreal to win. Montreal deserves to win. This city is the birthplace of hockey, it has a huge fanbase, it's not "just sports". It's a part of the cities culture and sits alongside French, poutine and a tendency to riot as a core pillar of what makes Montreal the deeply weird place that I love. I want to see my friends jumping around and my girlfriend getting to see the habs win after faithfully following them for decades. She'll say "I know it's not rational Paige!" while wiping away tears of joy, and I will be happy to see everyone bask in the moment. One less year where a sad middle aged suburban father has to remove not one, but two car window flags from his vehicle and put them in a box labeled "Maybe next year".

But having said that. Fuck the NHL. The local team of the hockey capital of the world should win every few years, the leafs should win every few years. Canadians should get to see their teams winning the sport that so many of them love. We pay for tickets and in countless hours of viewed advertisements for Dodge Rams. The question in this video is, why the fuck do we have to lose so much between these wins? What's next? Is New Zealand going to start losing the gumboot throw? Yes of course it's a thing.

I have an alternative take of this where the intro is something like "Why did it take 28 years?" that I will be happily uploading if we find ourselves in an upset turn around, but, I want to get finished products up ASAP to you guys. Also I figure if there is a turnaround this will be a nice artifact to have seen. You can say "You idiot Paige! Didn't you know that Saint Richard was watching over the game! The prediction markets you looked at obviously didn't factor that in!"
